2007 National Marina Day Chairman Announces Committee

Washington, DC, (May 24, 2007)¾2007 National Marina Day Chair Brad St. Coeur, CMM, today announced the members of this year's National Marina Day Committee. National Marina Day is produced by AMI and is an annual nationwide celebration of America's marinas. In 2007, National Marina Day (NMD) will be observed on August 11.
Joining St. Coeur on the 2007 National Marina Day Committee are:

· Bruce Marshall, CMM - Port of Olympia, Olympia, WA;
· David Suthard, CMM - North Point Marina, Winthrop Harbor, IL;
· Jerry Koncel - Marina Dock Age Magazine, Niles, IL;
· Jim Schofield - BoatU.S.Cooperating Marina Program, Alexandria, VA;
· Kathryn Novak - The Ocean Conservancy, St. Petersburg, FL;
· Kirby Scheimann, CMM - Marinas International, St. Petersburg, FL;
· Nathalie Grady - Massachusetts Marine Trades Association, Milton, MA; and
· Vivian Matuk - CA Dept. of Boating and Waterways/CA Coastal Commission; San Francisco, CA
According to St. Coeur, the National Marina Day Committee's main tasks are to serve as National Marina Day ambassadors in their and regions and contribute new ideas and concepts which further the goals of the annual event.
"I am excited about the quality of the people on the committee this year," said St. Coeur. "I look forward to working with this group to promote and deliver National Marina Day events in 2007 which show the benefits of the marina industry to the communities in which they reside." St. Coeur continues, "It is the goal of this committee to generate new and unique ways to celebrate the day, as well as create a program that can easily and effectively be delivered by the individual business who choose to take part in the annual celebration. By increasing participation of marinas celebrating this day, we will be able to send a strong message about the importance of our industry in delivering the quality recreational experience that family and friends enjoy together.”
