37th U.S. Sailboat Show Better Than Ever
Friday, July 21, 2006

Annapolis, Maryland – Although it is still some months in the future, early indications are that this year’s United States Sailboat Show will be bigger and better than ever, according to Sailboat Show Manager Dee Newman.
“Space sales, both in the water and on land, are running well ahead of last year at this time,” Newman said, speaking from her Eastport office. “ We are especially pleased with the number of new models that are being premiered by our exhibitors. For example, The Moorings is introducing two new boats - the Moorings 4600 and the Moorings 51.5. The Hanse 540 is also being shown for the first time.”
The French firm Beneteau, the largest sailboat builder in the world and the Annapolis show’s largest exhibitor, is introducing 4 new models to the North American market at the sailboat show – the First 50, the First 10R, the Beneteau 49 and the Beneteau 45. According to Beneteau spokesman Geoff McCord, “These models represent the future for Beneteau and the Beneteau dealer network in North America. I believe we set a new standard for the industry with last year’s Annapolis display. We intend to top that with this year’s display.”
The United States Sailboat Show, now in its 37th year, is the oldest and largest all sail in- the-water show in the industry. The show is truly an international event and is viewed by many industry watchers as a barometer of the state of the recreational sailing industry. “We are anticipating a great year and a great show this October,” concluded show manager Newman.
The 37th U.S. Sailboat show takes place October 5- 9, 2006 in the waters of Annapolis Harbor. Tickets may be purchased on line at US Sailboat Show.
